Episode 1- Shownotes

Introduction:
Welcome to today’s episode of The Presence of God! I’m your host, Niccie, and today we’re having a powerful and deeply moving conversation with Merline Ulloth, founder of The Uncommon U.

Merline shares her raw and faith-filled testimony of how God met her through trauma, illness, military life, and hidden pain—and how quiet deliverance led her from a “common” life into an uncommon identity, wholeness, and assignment. This episode is not just a testimony—it’s an invitation.

THE PROBLEM

Take a moment to reflect—do any of these sound familiar?

  • You believe in God, but still feel stuck in survival mode

  • You’ve experienced trauma but learned how to “function” instead of heal

  • You attend church, serve faithfully, yet feel unseen or unnamed

  • You were saved—but never discipled into wholeness and identity

The reality is—without healing and deliverance, we can live saved lives while still wearing masks God never asked us to carry.

THE WORD

Throughout the conversation, Scripture comes alive through Merline's story:

  • Psalm 23 – God restores the soul before He leads us forward

  • Isaiah 40:31 – Waiting on the Lord renews strength and teaches us how to soar

  • 2 Timothy 1:7 – Fear is not from God; power, love, and a sound mind are

  • John 1:1 & Hebrews 4:12 – The Word is living, active, and powerful

Merline's journey shows us that God’s Word doesn’t just inform us—it transforms us.

THE GIFT

As Niccie and Merline unpack this journey, we see the gifts God gives when we surrender fully:

  • Healing – From trauma, anxiety, and physical affliction

  • Deliverance – Freedom from survival thinking and hidden bondage

  • Identity – Removing masks and restoring who God always intended

  • Rest – Learning to abide instead of strive

  • Assignment – Being sent to demonstrate God, not defend ourselves

THE CHOICE

Every believer faces a crossroads:

  • Will I live saved but surviving—or healed and whole?

  • Will I remain comfortable in what’s familiar—or surrender to God’s refining?

  • Will I define myself by trauma—or allow God to rewrite my identity?

As Merline shares, healing is not the end—wholeness is.

Personal Reflection

  • Where might God be inviting you into quiet healing instead of public performance?

  • What masks helped you survive—but may now be keeping you from wholeness?

  • Are you willing to wait, rest, and abide so God can fully restore you?

Let’s Close in Prayer

“Lord, thank You for meeting us in quiet places. Thank You for restoring what was broken and calling us into wholeness. Heal the hidden wounds, restore identity, and teach us to rest, abide, and soar in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Takeaway from the Episode

Through Merline's story, we’re reminded that God encounters aren’t random—they are intentional invitations into healing, identity, and purpose. If God met her in the hidden places, He can meet you there too.
