Introduction:

TODAY WE’LL BE DISCUSSING HOW BEING IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD USHERS IN A BETTER LIFE?

AND MORE SPECIFICALLY HOW surrendering control of our life to God - allows Him to lead you toward all things good, glorious, like abundance, purpose and healing …AND SO THE LIST GOES ON.

THE PROBLEM:

  • We get stuck in the world because there are no guarantee’s here. This world can be unpredictable

  • Sideswipe us

  • Lose a job

  • Illness

  • I often see folks looking for a better life because they are simply exhausted

  • Keeping up with

  • Trying to do it all (even with the best intentions)

  • Entitled

  • spoiled

  • We never learned how to lean into god so when we are in over our head we fill up on things of the world and they leave us empty and seeking them all the more.

  • This is where addiction comes in.

  • Things of this world leave us empty and wanting more….

  • Things of God fulfill us allowing us to be content in any and all situations….

Do a little hear check because it isn’t all about being in a bad place… just stop a minute and consider if you want

  • More peace

  • More health

  • More money

  • More joy

  • More power

  • More friends

  • Maybe your family needs more of these things

So, let's explore three actionable ways, grounded in Scripture, to seek the presence of God for a better life for yourself and loved ones.

THE WORD:

Proverbs 16:9 (ESV) states, "The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps."

  • It implies tension between human desires and God's sovereign control over our lives.

  • Honestly if there is no tension we might want to consider if we have truly stepped in or heard the will of God. because our plans and aspirations often conflict with God's perfect will, ….and the wisdom in relinquishing control to Him.

  • What is God’s will for your life?

  • Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

  • Matthew 6:10Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

  • 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. SEPARATION NO MORE

The Struggle for Control:

  • Our tendency to resist surrendering control, fearing uncertainty and loss of autonomy.

  • Hard if you don't know that character of God

  • Hard when you haven’t done it before

  • Do it with little

  • personal experiences or examples of times when trying to control outcomes led to frustration or disappointment.

  • RESISTED BUSINESS COACHING,

  • ONCE I SAW IT THE BOOK CAME… ALL ALONG GOD WAS LEADING ME HERE

  • Discuss the limitations of human understanding and the inherent wisdom in trusting God's guidance.

  • Ephesians 1:17-19. The God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him; having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might.

THE GIFT: The Blessing of Surrender:

  • PEACE / LYNN: blessings that come from surrendering control to God, such as peace, freedom from anxiety, and alignment with His perfect plan.

  • FORGIVENESS /JOE & KAREN Share stories or testimonies illustrating the transformative power of surrender in individuals' lives.

  • WHAT ARE YOUR areas where they may be resisting God's leadership and consider the blessings that come from letting go.

  • Hope

  • Inheritance

  • Power

THE CHOICE: Trusting God's Guidance:

  • How - SPEAK IT, REBUKE, AWARE, CHARACTER

  • Seek help: prayer, meditation on scripture, and seeking wise counsel from fellow believers.

  • Carry a posture of humility and openness to God's leading.

  • Remember Proverbs 16:9—that while we may plan our ways, it is ultimately God who establishes our steps.

  • Surrender to God and then trust His wisdom and sovereignty.
