Today we’ll discuss How
Getting into the Presence of God because HE Can & Will Help Us Forgive the Unforgivable
Why is is so important for your personal quality of life
And just how to lean into His presence for His divine grace and power.
THE PROBLEM: Take a minute and think about this…
Do you have someone in your life right now that you need to forgive?
Right away understand I’m not talking about ‘want’ to forgive
We have built in programing on why we should or shouldn’t
Like, they don’t deserve it.
They did it on purpose
They haven’t even acknowledged their part
Why should I have to forgive them…? They are the one who did something wrong
So, let's explore three powerful points, grounded in Scripture, to help lean into the presence of God — to receive and give forgiveness allowing us to tap into all the blessings that follow.
THE WORD: Main Teaching: Todays teaching is based on
Ephesians 1:7: "In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace."
Context: This verse is part of Paul's letter to the Ephesians, where he elaborates on the spiritual blessings believers have in Christ.
Key Themes: Redemption, forgiveness of sin, grace for self and others. (fruit of the spirit)
1. (LET’S BREAK THEM DOWN IN ORDER) Redemption Through His Blood
Definition of Redemption: to be redeemed / paid in full, doesn’t bounce, Not money it’s freedom..
The act of being set free or delivered from bondage, sin, and its consequences.
Sit back and think of the one thing you did last week/month/years ago
In biblical terms, it often implies a cost or sacrifice.
Christ's Sacrifice:
Jesus' sacrificial death on the cross was the price for our redemption.
His blood represents the ultimate sacrifice, fulfilling the Old Testament sacrificial system.
Scriptural References:
1 Peter 1:18-19: "For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed...but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect."
Hebrews 9:12: "He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption."
He didn’t have to do this… He came to do this…
2. The Forgiveness of Sins
Meaning of Forgiveness:
The act of God absolving us of our sins, removing guilt and punishment.
Nature of Divine Forgiveness:
It is complete, unconditional, and available to all who believe.
Forgiveness restores the standard
Impact on Believers:
Removes guilt and shame, bringing peace and reconciliation with God.
Kairos Through the generations
Scriptural References:
1 John 1:9: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."
Repenting is huge
Psalm 103:12: "As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us."
Nothing to big or little
It’s satans design to get in the middle of it
THE GIFT: In Accordance with the Riches of God’s Grace
Understanding God's Grace:
Unmerited favor; a gift from God that we cannot earn.
Riches of Grace:
God's grace is abundant, limitless, and generously given.
Relationship to Forgiveness and Redemption:
Both forgiveness and redemption are acts of grace; we do not deserve them, but God gives them freely.
Scriptural References:
Romans 3:23-24: "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus."
Titus 2:11: "For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people."
THE CHOICE FRIEND WE HAVE FREE WILL AND Ephesians 1:7 is the heart of the gospel: our redemption through Christ’s blood, forgiveness of sins, and the boundless grace of God. AND WE HAVE A CHOICE TO LIVE BY IT OR NOT.
Come to love the act surrendering, trusting God’s wisdom and sovereignty for his leadership into a wonderful life.
Personal Reflection:
Consider the magnitude of Christ’s sacrifice and the depth of God’s forgiveness.
Reflect on the richness of God’s grace in your own life.
Living in Grace:
If we haven’t yet we need to Accept God’s forgiveness, letting go of guilt and shame.
Extend grace and forgiveness to others as God has done for you.
Gratitude and Worship:
Respond with gratitude for God’s redemptive work.
Worship God for His immeasurable grace and mercy.
